Cube thoughts; August 2000 New Mac Keyboard & Mouse
    by daviddennis , Fri Aug 11 21:55:37 EDT 2000

Pros: The mouse is fantastic ...
Cons: but the keyboard is still cheesy.

Review: This is not a complete review of the G4, but I thought my impression of the new Mac keyboard and mouse might be of interest.

I was in Fry's today (August 11th, 2000), and the first of the new iMacs and multi-processor G4s are in at long last...

    An Ordinary Person's Realistic Review
    by anyamashiro , Tue May 16 20:52:49 EDT 2000

Pros: fast, great graphics, lots of memory and space, great tech support
Cons: connecting old equipment hassles, little software, no printed manuals

Review: After reading all the glowing opinions here about the G4's, I decided to take the plunge and buy one. Since I already had a Mac, I figured I could use my old monitor and printer and save a little money that way, justifying the higher cost of buying the... read full review

The bottom line: This is a great computer, but not a perfect one.

    The best thing out there
    by eljuanbobo , Sun May 21 11:57:51 EDT 2000

Pros: big memory, lots of space, kickin graphics, and a sexy machine.
Cons: only 3 PCI slots, needs external speakers

Review: Apple’s resurgence was not only one of a series of powerful processors, but one of design. Beige was out, Blue was in. And now it’s graphite. I have used both Windows NT based systems and Macintosh for a variety of video post, 3d modeling/rendering, web... read full review

    things have changed
    by cnielsen , Mon Dec 11 15:10:12 EST 2000

Pros: fast, runs very clean, no headaches from crashes despite the amount of multitasking going on
Cons: most apps dont use dual-processor functionality yet

Review: I hate computers. Unfortunately, I depend on them. I design websites during the day, and produce dance music at night. I do love the software, I just hate the computer.

For hating computers, the Macintosh has been my least-hated one. I have...

    by ortica , Wed Feb 21 12:11:08 EST 2001

Pros: Great speed and ease of use, upgradability, and price performance ratio.
Cons: Apple tech support is only average. No sound in port or option for dvd/cd-rw

Review: I have wanted to purchase a new computer for the last eight months and finally took the plunge. I have made the transition from an iMac revision b, 466mhz 160mb ram, to a new Power Mac Dual G4 533mhz with an ATi Radeon graphics card. The G4 feels much... read full review

The bottom line: I would not hesitate to recommend this computer to any professional or prosumer seeking a powerful, and upgradable, computer.

    The G4- Gigaflop or Mega-Bite
    by Eimaj , Tue Oct 03 21:12:37 EDT 2000

    Pros: Fast, sexy, efficient
Cons: Poor graphics acceleration, slow in terms of MHz

Review: First things first- I would ask that all readers keep in mind that I am trying to take an objective point of view- I am an Apple loyalist, but I also feel that Apple could be doing some things much better than they currently are.

    by aliasfox , Mon Jan 24 18:17:25 EST 2000

Pros: Beautiful case, AWESOME power, great graphics
Cons: bit pricey, slighly choppy DVD, no speakers

Review: You don't know the word speed in reference to computers unless you've tried this computer. Absolute amazing graphics, and AMAZING speed. I do not doubt Appl's claims on this machine. And the OS is the thing that can't support re than 1.5 gigs of RAM, but... read full review

Pros: fast, reliable, stylish, runs MacOS
Cons: no free drive bays, puck mouse, small keyboard

Review: I am a graphic designer. I am a Mac freak. Therefore, I had to have a G4.

Before I begin, I need to add a note about my system. My Mac falls neither into the Multimedia or the Professional category; it is somewhere in between. I purchased it...
